موسم الفيروسات التنفسية احتفل العالم أجمع به بالتزامن مع اليوم العالمي للالتهاب الرئوي، وهو اليوم الذي يهدف إلى نشر الوعي بين الناس بخطورة هذا المرض، وذلك يتزامن الآن مع موجة العدوى التنفسية بين الأشخاص داخل مصر نتيجة للتقلبات الجوية.

وقامت هيئة الدواء المصرية بنشر عدة نصائح حتى يتمكن المواطنين من التعامل مع مرض الالتهاب الرئوي وهذه نصائح كالتالي:
- في موسم الفيروسات التنفسية لا يجب أن يتناول المريض أدوية السعال عند التحدث إلى الطبيب مقدم الرعاية الصحية.
- يجب التوقف عن التحكم في الحمى من خلال تناول أدوية الباراسيتامول أو الأدوية من مضادات الالتهاب غير الاستيرودية وهي مثل الايبوبروفين دون استشارة الطبيب مقدم الرعاية الصحية، كذلك لا يجب إعطاء الأطفال الأسبرين.
- يجب التوقف عن التدخين فهو يؤثر على الرئتين.
- يجب تناول الكثير من السوائل حتى يتم تخفيف الإفرازات والبلغم.
- ضرورة الحفاظ على الجهاز المناعي قويا من خلال إتباع نمط الحياة الصحي وممارسة الرياضة بشكل منتظم.
- ضرورة تناول الأطعمة الصحية.
- يجب غسل اليدين بالماء والصابون أو باستخدام الكحول والمعقمات حتى يتم قتل الجراثيم.
- يجب الحصول على قسط كافي من الراحة والنوم يوميا، أيضا قد يحتاج المريض البقاء في السرير فترة حتى شفاءه.
