رفع أسعار سجائر مارلبورو وإل إم وميريت إلى 5 جنيهات للعلبة الواحدة غدا

قررت شركة فيليب موريس الدولية، أكبر شركة تبغ في العالم، رفع أسعار جميع منتجاتها في السوق المصري، بدءًا من غدٍ الإثنين 17 يوليو 2023.

وبحسب بيان صادر عن الشركة، فإن الزيادة في الأسعار ستتراوح بين 5 جنيهات و10 جنيهات للعبوة الواحدة، وذلك على جميع أنواع السجائر التي تنتجها الشركة، بما في ذلك ميريت، مارلبورو، إل إم، وكرافت.

وأوضح البيان أن الزيادة في الأسعار جاءت نتيجة ارتفاع أسعار المواد الخام، وتكلفة الإنتاج، بالإضافة إلى ارتفاع الضرائب المفروضة على السجائر في مصر.

وكانت وزارة المالية المصرية قد أعلنت في وقت سابق من هذا العام عن زيادة ضريبة القيمة المضافة على السجائر بنسبة 10%، وذلك في إطار خطة الحكومة لخفض استهلاك التبغ في البلاد.

وتعتبر مصر من أكبر الأسواق لمنتجات التبغ في العالم، حيث يبلغ عدد المدخنين في مصر حوالي 18 مليون شخص، وهو ما يعادل حوالي 25% من إجمالي السكان.

ومن المتوقع أن تؤدي الزيادة في أسعار السجائر إلى زيادة تكلفة التدخين في مصر، مما قد يدفع بعض المدخنين إلى الإقلاع عن التدخين.

ويأتي قرار فيليب موريس الدولية برفع أسعار منتجاتها في السوق المصري، في الوقت الذي تواجه فيه صناعة التبغ ضغوطًا متزايدة من الحكومة والمجتمع المدني، وذلك بسبب أضرار التدخين على الصحة العامة.
